bismillah

Ya ayyuha a(l)nnabiyyu lima tuharrimu ma ahalla Allahu laka tabtaghee mardata azwajika wa(A)llahu ghafoorun raheem(un)

O’ ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam! Why do youSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam forbid for youSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam what AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala has allowed to youSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam, seeking the goodwill of yourSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wives? And AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala is Forgiving, Merciful.

(66:1)

Qad farada Allahu lakum tahillata aymanikum wa(A)llahu mawlakum wahuwa alAAaleemu alhakeem(u)

Surely AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala has ordained for youSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam absolution from yourSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam oaths; and AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala is yourSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam Patron, and HeSubhana wa ta'ala is the Knower, the Wise.

(66:2)

Waith asarra a(l)nnabiyyu ila baAAdi azwajihi hadeethan falamma nabbaat bihi waathharahu Allahu AAalayhi AAarrafa baAAdahu waaAArada AAan baAAdin falamma nabbaaha bihi qalat man anbaaka hatha qala nabbaaniya alAAaleemu alkhabeer(u)

And recall when the ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam confided a story to one of hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam spouses, and then she disclosed it. AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala apprised himSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam of it; heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam made known a part of it, and a part heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam withheld. Then when heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam had apprised her of it, she said: Who has told youSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam of it? HeSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam said: The Knower, the Aware has told me.

(66:3)

In tatooba ila Allahi faqad saghat quloobukuma wain tathahara AAalayhi fainna Allaha huwa mawlahu wajibreelu wasalihu almumineena wa(a)lmalaikatu baAAda thalika thaheer(un)

Then if you twain turn to AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala repentant, it is well; surely your hearts are so inclined. But if you support each other against himSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam, then verily AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala ! HisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam friend is HeSubhana wa ta'ala and JibrilAlayhi salam, and so are the righteous believers, and furthermore angelsAlayhi salam are hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam aiders.

(66:4)

AAasa rabbuhu in tallaqakunna an yubdilahu azwajan khayran minkunna muslimatin muminatin qanitatin taibatin AAabidatin saihatin thayyibatin waabkara(n)

If heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam divorces you, perchance hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam RabbSubhana wa ta'ala will give himSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam in exchange better wives than you: Muslims, believers, devout, penitent worshippers, given to fasting, both non virgins and virgins.

(66:5)

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo qoo anfusakum waahleekum naran waqooduha a(l)nnasu wa(a)lhijaratu AAalayha malaikatun ghilathun shidadun la yaAAsoona Allaha ma amarahum wayafAAaloona ma yumaroon(a)

O’ you who believe! Guard yourselves and your households against a Fire the fuel whereof is mankind and stones. Over it are angels, stern, strong; they do not disobey AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala in what HeSubhana wa ta'ala Commands them, and they do what they are commanded.

(66:6)

O’ you who disbelieve! Excuse not yourselves to-day; you are only being requited for what you have been working.

(66:7)

In The Name of AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
SECRETS OF REVELATION:

The Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam stayed at one of his Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wife's place and took some honey. When heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam came to visit another of his Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wives she inquired if heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam had taken Maghafir, a sort of gum with an unpleasant odour. HeSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam said that it was only honey heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam had taken. She said that some Maghafir might have been mixed with it. The Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam disliked bad odours, so heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam swore never to take honey again. At the same time heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam asked her not to disclose it to anyone lest his Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wife who fed thim the honeyRadhiAllaah Unho feels hurt. She, however, disclosed it to another of his Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wives (whom she was close to), asking her to repeat the same thing. It was actually an attempt inspired by love to make himSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam stay longer with them than heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam did with hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam other wives. But AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala made it known through revelation and forbade the Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam against declaring a lawful thing prohibited for himselfSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam, asking himSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam to expiate. Since heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam was the guide of the whole world, hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam abstinence from a lawful thing would cause difficulty for the later generations. The Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam was told not to renounce a lawful provision just to please hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wives. AllahSubhana wa ta'ala , being Forgiving and Merciful, has prescribed expiation for breaking an oath, so the Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam atoned by freeing a slave.

When the Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam confided to one of hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wives about the oath, she disclosed it to another. AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala also informed himSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam about it through revelation. HeSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam hinted to the wife he Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam had told her that the matter was confidential, tacitly reminding her that heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam had asked her to keep it secret. Moreover, heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam was annoyed when another of his Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wives asked him Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam the same that whether he Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam had taken Maghafir. HeSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam said: AllahSubhana wa ta'ala , the Knower, had already disclosed the whole issue to himSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam. Since what had crossed your mind, though out of love, was unbecoming of your status, being in violation of others rights and you must repent. AllaahSubhana wa ta'ala also cautioned that if they intended to dominate the Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam as is the nature of most wives, it would be impossible because HeSubhana wa ta'ala is by hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam side; and Archangel JibrilAlayhi salam and all other angels and pious Muslims are at hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam beck and call.

Ruling

(1) It is permissible to give up a lawful thing due to illness or a genuine pretext but it should not be believed as prohibited.

Tafsir-e-Mazhari asserts that the Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam resolved to divorce a wife of his Sal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam, but for the revelation that she fasted frequently and offered her Salat and was included among hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam wives in Jannah. So heSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam neither divorced her nor took another wife instead. AllahSubhana wa ta'ala , however, declared that if they did not submit, HeSubhana wa ta'ala might well ask the Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam to divorce them, and bless himSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam with better wives, believing, submissive, penitent, worshipping and given to fasting, both virgins and non-virgins. The Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam, however, did not marry after that, which indicates that all the aforesaid virtues characterized hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam noble wives.

AllahSubhana wa ta'ala also advises the believers to save themselves as well as their family members from Hell by obeying HimSubhana wa ta'ala and His ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam in all matters as its Fire is fuelled by humans and the stones being worshipped in the world. The angels guarding it are scornful and strict. They make no concessions and carry out AllahSubhana wa ta'ala 's Commands without the slightest deviation.

(2) Each and every man is responsible for training and educating his wife and children on the lawful and the prohibited to enable them to act upon Shari'ah.

And O' non believers! Do not fabricate excuses to justify your disbelief This Day (the Day of Judgement) you would reap only what you have been sowing in your temporal life. You have no excuse for the aversion you harboured for the Holy ProphetSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam, for hisSal Allaah ho alayhi wassalam teachings would have benefited you had you followed them.
